April Fools' Day or All Fools' Day is an annual world-wide custom taking place on the 1st of April consisting of practical jokes and hoaxes. While the rest of world was busy playing pranks and jokes on one another the Brethren of the Order of the Red Cross of Constantine No. 476 E.C.as well as the Brethren of the Rose Croix Selangor No. 285 E.C. choose to spend this day practicing the kindness and charitable giving so deeply ingrained within the principles of Freemasonry .

The brain child of our own Brother David Oakley, the Brethren of the two Orders joined forces to organise the first inter- Constitutional event to raise funds for two care homes using the facilities at RMC which were made available by the District without charge. We thank the RMHB management for this most kind gesture.

This unique and fun event was attended by twenty-nine (29) children eight (8) care workers from Rumah Charis and Trinity care homes in Kuala Lumpur.

The wonderfully entertaining Easter Egg Hunt was a sight to behold for the more than 110 Brethren from English, Scottish and Irish constitutions with their families, friends while adding forty (40) of their own children to this exciting event.

Staying true to the Easter religious holiday, acknowledgement was duly made to the Great Architect of the Universe as the day started with a twenty minute Palm Sunday reflection service. After reflection all proceeded to the buffet lunch held in the main dining hall.

After lunch the children were entertained by "Stanley" the clown, who made the Easter Bunny appear. The children were really engaged in it all, so much so that it was difficult to get them to go to the ice cream man to get their free ice cream.

The children then spent 30 minutes hunting egg tokens on the two floor levels of RMC and then exchanged them for toys, eggs and chocolates.

Cheques of RM2k were presented to both Charis and Trinity before the event ended. On leaving each child received a goodie bag.

We believe in that old saying that a picture is worth a thousand words. So please enjoy the photos taken on the day.

Childrens smiles come very effortlessly, yet very rewarding. It melts the heart, warms the soul, and brightens up and refreshes one's spirit. Proving once again that it is indeed more blessed to give than receive.
